With diverse sound colours and a sensitive blend of instrumental and vocal arrangements, the musicians of the Copenhagen-based ensemble KLANGLYS (Klang = sound, Lys = light) share their passion for bright jazz harmonies, playful rhythmic ostinatos, and natural soundscapes. For the occasion of the Copenhagen Jazz festival 2025, KLANGLYS invites the Japanese bass player Makoto Ishizaka to join them on stage. Drawing from the unique background of each musician in the ensemble, creates a rich, stylistic sonic universe based on the compositions of bandleader Johannes Käsbach. Describing himself as a musical architect, Johannes' music is inspired by his world travels creating a common musical space for each musician's character and notion of improvisation. KLANGLYS makes listening both perceptible and tangible, by navigating their audience through a world of music, colours and languages.
