SØSTRE – The Hidden Heroines of Jazz
Concert, art, and club atmosphere during Copenhagen Jazz Festival 2026
On July 9, SØSTRE invites you into H15 Studio for a sensory evening
where live music, visual art, and vinyl merge in a tribute to female
voices in jazz—past and present.
SØSTRE – The Hidden Heroines of Jazz is an artistic and
cultural-historical project that combines a concert series during
Copenhagen Jazz Festival with the development of a documentary film.
The project highlights female musicians who have shaped jazz
throughout history, yet have often been overlooked in its
storytelling.
On this evening, the project unfolds in a more experimental and
cross-aesthetic setting, where sound, images, and narratives
intertwine.

Lea Foxman / Aquire
Through a tapestry of colorful vocal harmonies, pulsating grooves, and
electronic soundscapes, Lea Foxman and her band Aquire create a sonic
universe where genres dissolve. A tension emerges between the raw and
the intimate—between the organic and the electronic.
The lyrics revolve around honesty, identity, and the movement in and
out of oneself, carried by a voice that both floats and cuts through
with strength and presence.
Ronja Rose Andersson / MUSViT
The Danish-Swedish quartet MUSViT moves freely between free jazz,
hip-hop, and experimental soundscapes. With a unique instrumentation
and a playful yet focused expression, they create a dynamic universe
where calm and chaos, humor and seriousness coexist.
Since winning the Jazz Competition 2024, the band has made a strong
mark and is known as an intense and innovative live act.
