Bagland has been one of the most prominent bands on the Danish jazz scene in recent years, bringing a fresh take on the ‘Scandinavian sound.’

Since 2015, Bagland has released four albums, most recently States of Being in 2022, which JazzNyt called “a powerful album that firmly places them at the forefront of Danish jazz today.”

The band has been nominated for the Danish Music Awards Jazz and has toured in Denmark, Finland, and Germany, where they were also selected to represent Denmark at the world’s largest jazz trade fair, Jazzahead.

Inspired by the vast and open Nordic landscape, the quintet’s compositions are marked by lyrical melodies and complemented by an electronic soundscape that adds a playful and energetic dimension to their music.

Led by award-winning trumpeter Jakob Sørensen, the concert promises a fusion of innovation and tradition — hope, joy, longing, and melancholy.
