Meejah
With their debut album “Queen of Spring,” the Danish-Korean group Meejah explores connections between Korean philosophy and Nordic melancholy. Combining post-rock, gritty trip-hop, shoegaze, and Korean pansori, they create a musical experience that is both powerful and intimate. In 2024, Meejah recorded an exclusive live session at Seattle’s KEXP studio, and in 2023, they toured South Korea, earning praise from The Korea Times, among others. In Denmark, they were nominated for the prestigious Steppeulven award in the “Hope of the Year” category in 2022. Live, Meejah presents a unique and intense fusion of East Asian tradition and Nordic tones, expressed through everything from Tibetan singing bowls to gritty guitar textures and experimental soundscapes.
