Lars Bech Pilgaard: Folklórica
On Folklórica, Bech Pilgaard's fascination and attraction to folk music is staged as a lifeblood that becomes a crossroads for the encounter between the album's abstract expression and concrete flow,
creating an ambitious masterpiece where the potential of string instruments is transformed through dialog with deep folk music traditions.
The album becomes an archive of experienced communication between humans, nature and spirituality and an exploration of the power of music as a catalyst for the human condition. As a reflection on the poetic abilities of music and folklore as a medium for new encounters between people, traditions and experiences.

Ignacio Cordoba is a small person from a small village in the mountains of Madrid (Spain).
An improviser and composer who moved to Copenhagen in 2017 and quickly became a very
active and sought-after player in the Danish Jazz and Improv scene because of his
heterodox approach to music and his personal and passionate way of performing
improvising. His musical journey has turned him into a shaman mistaken for a scientist, an
engineer of his own confusion and an apprentice devoted to the craft of being lost. He
makes Magic with Electricity. He creates electronic music that blends sound-art, drone and
experimentation with instruments that he invents and builds himself, like The Box.
“The Box” (La Caja) is a repurposed industrial machine that plays with time like memory
does: stretching, slowing and speeding sound, making it disappear and appear a bit different
every time. Distant and hypnotic like a black hole, he uses it to get us to underwater sounds,
bubbly atmospheres and melancholic mermaid calls.

His poetic view of life has stretched him in a prolific discography (16 records published) and
relentless touring (more than 200 shows over 6 European Tours through 17 countries and a
Japanese Tour). He works with musicians like Michael Pisaro, Pamelia Kurstin, Kresten
Osgood, Søren Kjaergaard, Maria Laurette Friis, G.W. Sok (The ex), John Russell, Maggie
Nicols, Johanna Borchert, Fernando Junquera, Isasa, Ainara LeGardon, Kazehito Seki and
many more.

Johanna Borchert explores the full spectrum on the grand piano and expands it with
physical preparations and sound processing. The instrument is decorated with chopsticks,
horse hair effects pedals or even an elephant trunk. Borchert succeeds in conjuring up
sound images that let the imagination fly around between violins, crying whales or the
lament of an oriental women's chorus. These diverse sounds bring her the unexpected
places to flow imperceptibly into her numbing melodies. With her music, the lights clear like
jewels in the burnt foam of the sea.
