Since he started playing the piano at the age of 6, music has been a crucial part of Chris Minh Doky's life. He later switched to bass and moved to New York at a young age, where he trained and worked with world-renowned musicians such as Mike Stern, John Scofield, Ryuichi Sakamoto and David Sanborn.

At 51, Chris Minh Doky can look back on an impressive and diverse career that has included Grammy nominations, a number of international albums (including on the legendary Blue Note label), membership in the jazz-funk supergroup The Electric Nomads, several collaborations with his brother Niels Lan Doky, classical compositions and work with hymns and the Danish song treasure in the trio New Danish Jazz, as well as a Knight's Cross.
