The Counterfictionals is the creation of composer, bandleader, and multi-instrumentalist Kristoffer Rosing-Schow, who leads a sextet of musicians in absolute top form. Inspired by the great Italian film composers—known from the works of Fellini, Sergio Leone, and David Lynch—Rosing-Schow crafts rhythmically compelling music that the ensemble delivers with both virtuosity and playful energy.

The debut album No Hay Banda received enthusiastic international acclaim, was listed among the year’s best releases, and was nominated for a Danish Music Award for Jazz Album of the Year. Its follow-up, An Incomplete Encyclopedia of Gentle Emotions, was released in June 2025.
The musicians are known from collaborations with artists such as Bisse, Lotte Anker, Afenginn, Poul Krebs, Wafande, and Mark Solborg.
