How do we speak musically, alone and together, in different languages?
Solborg wishes to investigate, illustrate and raise awareness of the continuous conversation across cultures and people, toward a more varied and complex perspective, one in which we celebrate differences and insight. It is a conversation that is becoming ever more important if we are to solve the problems we face as a society and as a species.
With his multilingual Danish/Argentinian background, and his travels, work and study stays around the world, Solborg has experienced how words, our languages and mother tongues are deeply connected to our experience of ourselves in resonance with the world.

“...a new major work in Danish music.” and “A tour de force that sets both my body and my mind vibrating. ...just look, hope is still alive.” – David Dyrholm, Politiken
“What makes the album strong is precisely what many experimental releases lack: room for reflection and dialogue with the listener. Tungemål dares to be experimental without drowning itself out.” – Simon Heggum, Seismograf (DK)

Susana Santos Silva has a formidable wind technique, like an extension of her breath. Norwegian Ingar Zach has developed his own language on percussion, which, ominous like distant thunder, blends into the soundscape, yet is also strangely calming... Simon Toldam’s piano is like a rock of considered calm in the sonic space... As a listener, one is led through the halls, continually drawn toward hearing what hides around the next corner. – Jørgen Nielsen, ...All That

“Unique would be an understatement…
.. beautifully crafted with passion, love and creativity and the listener is constantly rewarded by surprise and the unexpected juxtaposition of sounds, instruments and space.
It is a work of art and would easily justify space in any contemporary art gallery..” – Ian Lomax, JazzJournal, UK
“Good news from Denmark once again! It is a work that is as musical as it is architectural and a coherent whole.” – Matthieu Jouan, Citizen Jazz/Europe Jazz Media Chart
Solborg was nominated in both ‘24 and ‘25 at the Danish Music Awards Jazz - Composer of the Year.
