Cubop is a 7-man orchestra who has developed his own style by uniting the salsa beater with melodious jazz and funk themes.

In '94, three Danish musicians went to Cuba to experience the roots of the salsa and get the rhythmic feeling completely under the skin. And they got it - including through instruction from the musicians from the Buena Vista Social Club, which became a world famous and rolled salsa wave across Europe and Denmark a few years later.

The trip to Cuba and the meeting with Cuban musicians became the starting point for the band Cubop, which has been moving in different directions for Cuban music and Latin jazz for more than 20 years. The name Cubop means Cuban Bebop and derived from the music style Dizzie Gillespie created in the 40's, mixing mixed African-American music with jazz and bebop.
