Omrum is a collective project –a musical free space where four strong voices meet as equals. The music moves between composition and free improvisation, with an open, atmospheric quality that is occasionally disrupted by explosive bursts of virtuosity.

The quartet features Erik Kimestad (trumpet), Mads Hyhne (trombone), Richard Andersson (double bass), and Jakob Høyer(drums) –four distinctive musicians from the Scandinavian jazz scene.

There is no front figure in Omrum, no hierarchy –only the freedom to contribute and express oneself without fixed boundaries.

Omrum recorded their debut album on the island of Møn inJanuary and are currently in the process of selecting the tracks to be mixed and shaped for the final release on Hobby Horse Recordsin the fall.

The album also marks Erik Kimestad’s first release centered around his own compositions.
