Mames Babegenush was founded in 2004 in Copenhagen and has achieved a national and international reputation with its deep roots in instrumental Eastern European folk music. At the same time, they break boundaries between genres and musical expressions, from classical music and jazz to Nordic folk music traditions. The orchestra is known for its captivating concerts and has toured Europe, North America and South America and has so far released 7 albums. Their performances include prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall (NYC), Gl. Scene (The Royal Theatre, Copenhagen), Bergen Festspil (Norway), Tønder Festival, Ravinia Festival (Chicago) and Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival (Germany).
