Schemes
Schemes is a fresh new quartet on the Norwegian/Danish jazz scene. The band is known for explosive and energetic live performances where improvisation guides the way for lyrical and modern compositions. Their music is unconventional and full of contrasts; intricate songs woven together by open passages and the use of improvisational techniques. Their inspiration comes from the jazz scenes in Berlin, New York, and Scandinavia, as well as from artists such as Keith Jarrett, Petter Eldh, Hanna Paulsberg, and Immanuel Wilkins.
The group has performed more than 50 concerts and has appeared at festivals throughout most of Norway, including Molde Jazz and the Oslo Jazz Festival. Their debut album “Embrace” was released on Jazzland Recordings in 2024, followed by a tour of Norway, and in September 2025 they embarked on a 12-concert tour of Norway, as well as spending time in the studio to record their second album.
