KOOB
KOOB is the rebellious debut project of the young Berlin-based singer Valeria Dele, who was born in Minsk to Belarussian and Ethiopean parents.
Her sonorous spoken-word vocals oscillate between the harmologous wordplay of Jayne Cortez, funk à la Meshell Ndegeocello, and contemporary hip-hop experiments. She constantly slips into different roles, approaching the listener from various perspectives. Her flexibility is astonishing. With some of the youngest exponents of the Berlin jazz scene, KOOB grooves, caresses and disturbs and the same time.
