This concert marks the official live debut of a remarkable new ensemble, bringing together both established and emerging voices from the forefront of European jazz and improvised music. American-born saxophonist Ned Ferm has been based in Copenhagen since 2001, when he began collaborating with bassist AC and drummer Jakob Høyer in projects including their long-running trio, The Giving 3. In recent years, Ferm has joined forces with the exceptional young guitarist Casper Hejlesen, who also co-leads a quartet with fellow rising guitar talent Carlo Dayyani, alongside AC and Høyer. Tonight’s performance unites these intersecting musical paths for the first time, drawing on celebrated compositions from nearly every member of the band and showcasing the distinctive creative voices that make this ensemble so compelling.
