A Plane To Catch came to life in the spring of 2021, when 5 young Danish jazz musicians met at a rehearsal space late at night in Copenhagen. During that night they listened to funk, Afrobeat, soul and Motown and started jamming groove-based music. They met every week thereafter. A band was born, and a common goal to start incredible parties still drives this amazing groove band.
A Plane to Catch consists of some of Denmark's leading young jazz musicians playing exclusively original compositions. With inspiration from musicians such as Maceo Parker, Fela Kuti, Al Green, Eddie Harris, James Brown and many others, the band has found its very own funk, soul, Latin, salsa, afrobeat, fusion sound. And with extensive experience from the Danish and international music scene, this new orchestra delivers instrumental world class groove music.
