Udsyn + JAM SESSION KL. 21
Respectful fusion between melodic jazz and heavy/electronica. Precisely rhythmically executed in a semi-acoustic set-up.
Danish jazz is moving to new places these years. The young generation has opened the doors to inspirations from other than the genre-defining over many years. UDSYN is one of the best examples of how you can easily go from intense, simple rhythmic progressions to inciting and visionary solos to an overall harmonic unexpected climax.
UDSYN participated in JazzDanmark's competition in September 2024, and made a huge impression on those who heard the group. The editor of All That... Jazz and more, Mads Kornum writes, among other things: "The interaction is stylish and lively, the rhythm group sets the pace, while keys and piano distribute the colors on the palette, all the while the electric guitar playing either puts the finishing touches on it" one or creates some tremors in the foundations. To my ears, a pure winner of half an hour that just flew away...
