An evening about the greatest saxophonists in jazz – presented and accompanied by live music.
In this talk, saxophonist and clarinetist Jacob Rønne Danielsen takes us on a musical journey through the great personalities of the saxophone – from Coleman Hawkins, Charlie Parker, and John Coltrane to today’s innovators. Along the way he both talks and plays, allowing the audience to hear how styles and expressions have evolved over time.
The clarinet also gets its moment, as Jacob – with his characteristic enthusiasm and humour – shows how jazz’s wind instruments have shaped music history.
About Jacob Rønne Danielsen
Jacob graduated from the Royal Academy of Music Aarhus with saxophone and ensemble direction as his main subjects and later completed a diploma in big band conducting and composition.
