The group had its well received premiere the 25th of April 2026 at the main stage for jazz music in Copenhagen, the famous Jazzhus Montmartre.
The music reflects Clausen’s deep involvement with Brazilian music including both his interpretations of famous Brazilian standards -
and his own original compositions which strongly imply the fascinating rhythms of Brazilian music as we know it from Tom Jobim, Hermeto, Gismonti and many others.
Clausen’s originals will be both new material and tunes and arrangements from his early Brazilian albums.

Professional musician since 1970 with Palle Mikkelborg, Dexter Gordon, Ben Webster. Since then with many other international jazz-artists. Played on Miles Davis' ”Aura” CD from 1985 (music by Mikkelborg)
- with an extended piano-solo on track 9, “Indigo”.
Pille Rite Rei - sax/vocal born in Estonia based in Denmark, known for mixing of nordic sound with Brazilian rhythms. She won the price as “New Jazz Name in Denmark 2016" and has been working with prominent musicians like Brasil’s Roberto Menescal. Her musical style often has a cross-cultural and brazilian mark.
Peter Lund – guitars
Uddannet fra Rytmisk Musikkonservatorium og Sibelius Akademiet, Helsinki.
Har spillet med bl.a. Sinne Eeg, Michala Petri, Mads Vinding, Jesper Lundgaard, Morten Lund, Thomas Franck, Nikolaj Hess og Jesper Bodilsen, samt komponeret og turneret med egne grupper. Arbejder med et personligt, improvisatorisk udtryk med fokus på klang, timing og melodisk klarhed.
Romulo Duarte - double bass & electric bass: He is from the city of Rio de Janeiro. He appeared on the 2010
album "Música em Pessoa" with some of the greatest Brazilian singers: Caetano Veloso, Ney Matogrosso, Gilberto Gil, Milton Nascimento and Maria Bethânia. He has also played in various clubs and music festivals throughout Europe, including the Montreux Jazz Festival, Veneto Jazz, Blue Note Milan and Umbria Jazz. In Brazil he plays and
records with many of the country's great singers and instrumentalists, such as João Donato, Toninho Horta, Leila Pinheiro, Luiz Melodia, Zé Paulo Becker, Nelson Aires, Nelson Faria, Marcos Ariel, Hamilton de Holanda, Elza Soares, Roberto Menescal, Hermeto Paschoal, Marcos Valle, José Roberto Bertrami, Rosa Passos, Carlos
Malta, Humberto Araújo and Orchestra Criola. He has also worked with filmmaker Baiano André Luis and arranger
Leandro Braga.
Ale Damasceno - drums & percussion
Brazilian drummer, educator, and researcher with more than twenty years of professional experience as a performer and university-level teacher. His work bridges Brazilian music, jazz, and global music practices, combining artistic performance with academic research and pedagogy. Artistic Career and Collaborations Alongside his academic work, Ale Damasceno has developed an extensive career as a studio and stage musician. He has collaborated in recordings and live performances with major figures of Brazilian popular music such as Caetano Veloso, Gal Costa, Arnaldo Antunes, Zizi Possi, Guinga, Jaques Morelenbaum, Luiz Melodia, Johnny Alf, Olívia Byington, Tetê Espíndola, Lucinha Lins, Célia, Virginia Rosa, Vanessa da Mata, and Paula Lima. His international collaborations include projects with Phil DeGreg, Vincent Gardner, and Miles Osland (USA), Henry Greindl (Belgium), Eva Jagun (Germany), and Iva Bittová (Czech Republic).
Orchestras and Large Ensembles. Ale Damasceno has also performed with important orchestral and large-ensemble projects, including the Diadema Jazz Symphony Orchestra, Orquestra Filarmônica de São Caetano do Sul, Orquestra Bachiana, Orquestra Sinfônica de Heliópolis, the Ballet Folclórico do Estado de São Paulo (Abaçaí), and the ensemble Grupo Comboio.
His research focuses on the concept of the Brazilian Drum Set (Bateria Brasileira), with particular attention to historical performance practices and stylistic development. He is the author of the book A Batucada Fantástica de Luciano Perrone: sua performance musical no contexto dos arranjos de Radamés Gnattali, published by OmniScriptum in Latvia.
Recent Projects and Ongoing Collaborations. In recent years, Ale Damasceno has been involved in several international and interdisciplinary projects. These include the Fresh Horizons Group, where he contributes his expertise in Brazilian percussion; Glitch, an experimental duo with pianist, composer, and arranger Nuno Tavares; and the Cosmo Sound Collective, led by London-based saxophonist Giuliano Pereira, dedicated to new interpretations of the music of Hermeto Pascoal. He is also a member of Orquestra TODOS, a multicultural ensemble bringing together musicians from more than ten countries with a focus on global music repertories, and the Thomas Clausen Brazilian Quartet, a newly formed group led by Danish pianist Thomas Clausen, exploring Brazilian music within a European jazz context....
