The Japanese pianist Makiko Hirabayasi, who lives in Denmark, is internationally recognized for her lyrical playing and Nordic/Asian tonal language. Makiko Hirabayashi trio's latest release out of five - "Meteora" - was among the "best Albums of 2023" in Downbeat Magazine. The trio, which was formed in 2001, has over time developed a unique sound universe that is described as "deeply integrated, immensely live trio playing" and has a permanent fan base worldwide which has led to tours in large parts of Europe and Asia.
