Alexander Kraglund and Jeppe Holst share a passion for Brazilian music and have for more than a decade collaborated with a wide range of prominent Brazilian artists. In 2016 Violí Violã released the debut album “É Luxo Só” in the company of singer Thaís Motta from Rio de Janeiro and the percussionist and drummer Afonso Corrêa. In 2022 Violí Violã realized their full potential as a duo with a Denmark tour during “Winterjazz” and took audiences by storm with their permeances at Copenhagen Jazz Festival and Aarhus Jazz Festival. In Musikhuset Aarhus the duo played as a warm-up act for the Brazilian pianist Eliane Elias.
Violí Violã takes the audience on a musical journey into the essence of Brazilian music from the virtuoso and playful expression of choro music to the poetic universe of bossa nova.
