Adrian Christensen unveils his new project: NARVA – An enchanting journey through nordic sounds and boundless musical Landscapes.
He has assembled a star trio with award-winning musicians Karmen Roivassepp and Viktoria Søndergaard. Together, they explore a soundscape where Nordic melancholy merges with the refined harmonies of jazz and the grandeur of classical music. But Narva is more than just music—it is a fusion of art forms where sound transforms into light, movement, and emotion.
On the upcoming album Narva, releasing in the fall of 2024 through Gateway, an additional dimension is added with guest performances from the remarkable cellists Gabriella and Rebecca Fuglsig. Their collaboration with the trio creates a musical narrative that freely traverses between the melancholic tones of the Baltic people and the spontaneous freedom of jazz.

Their collaboration with the trio creates a musical narrative that freely traverses between the melancholic tones of the Baltic people and the spontaneous freedom of jazz.
Adrian Christensen, the creative force behind Narva, describes the project as an opportunity to create a new auditory experience that breaks traditional musical boundaries and build bridges between genres, and audiences.
"We want to take listeners on a journey" says Adrian Christensen.
Christensen has already established himself as one of Denmark's most innovative bassists and composers through his work with groups like Abekejser, Clapper, Karmen Roivassepp Quartet, and Bangin’ Bülows Nice Jazz Quartet. With a solid education from the Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus, where he completed both his bachelor's and master's degrees with top honors, and international studies with exchange programs in Stockholm, Helsinki, and Rotterdam, he has worked with some of the biggest names in the jazz world.
In recent years, he has explored the fusion of classical and rhythmic music as a musician in projects such as Who Killed Bambi and Misceo. Narva is the next step on this journey—a bold exploration of the unknown, where musical boundaries are challenged and pushed to new heights.
The album Narva was released in November 2024 by Gateway....
