Carolyn Goodwin / Irene Bianco / Michael Mørkholt

Elektronisk/beat Eksperimental jazz DKK 100 DKK per show / 180 DKK for all-night access / 300 DKK for a 5-show punch card

Carolyn Goodwin, founder of the Copenhagen Clarinet Choir and a key figure in the Scandinavian improvised music scene, meets with Irene Bianco, a percussionist and performer active mainly in the fields of contemporary music, and free improvisation in a.o. Damkapellet and Wolfskin Ensemble and Michael Mørkholt, an electronic composer and member of the group Aar & Dag.

Together, they explore a symbiotic play between acoustic wind instruments, percussion, and listening computers. Mørkholt’s sensory and generative computer systems, with their inherent organic logic, dynamically interact with Bianco’s extended percussion and Goodwin’s multiple woodwinds, where a classical approach to sonority, as well as a considered lyricism, is pivotal to their expressions as improvisers. The result is a cybernetic feedback dialog and interplay between human musical intuition and algorithmic probability.
