Presenting a new solo set, a dialogue between two rare string instruments, the Campanula Quinton + Stroh viola-phone. Moving within a micro cosmos of overtones and sometimes barely hearable textured sounds. Constantly trying to expand the sonic palette by preparing/ attaching objects to the strings; spirals, sticks, leaves, small vibrators, bells, balls, magnets… In the spirit of curiosity and playfulness.
Aagot`s artistic practice includes extended compositions and installations that combine visuals, objects, reel tapes, video, and field recordings with live performance. Much of her recent work addresses questions of site relations / specificity / non-specificity, and material-based translation across mediums, exploring the reproduction and representation of sonic and visual ideas. In this research, she invented the term ""Nonotations"" to describe my spatial hybrids of visual art and musical notation.
