Copenhagen Youth Jazz Orchestra

Copenhagen Youth Jazz Orchestra demonstrates how young musicians interpret the big band genre as they open the concert for Sinne Eeg & Tivoli Big Band.
The Copenhagen Youth Jazz Orchestra (CYJO) is a big band dedicated to nurturing young talent, comprising musicians aged 17–22. The band’s diverse musical profile embraces the core of the modern big band tradition, new music with a global perspective, and a chamber-music-inspired ensemble sound. For this concert, the band is led by Geir Lysne.
CYJO is run in collaboration with the Danish Broadcasting Company (DR), the Copenhagen Jazz Orchestra, and Tivoli Gardens. The band assembles for projects involving leading national and international musicians, conductors, and composers. CYJO works closely with the DR Big Band, the Tivoli Big Band, and the Copenhagen Jazz Orchestra, receiving tuition from them and performing side by side in special projects.
