Secrecy

Secrecy is a duo from Copenhagen, consisting of Tobias Guldborg Tarp and Emil Zethsen. Their music can be described as a mix of new wave, synth and jangle pop, where melodic bass and guitar melodies meet smoldering synth surfaces and a gentle, but often insistent vocal.
Artistically, Secrecy is drawn and driven by the dark sides of existence. From the beginning, their essence has been permeated by a common concern for the banalities of life, the transience of time and, not least, unhappy (and happy) love. These core elements are expressed through versatile compositions that, among other things, embrace the new wave synth hooks of the 70s and 80s, the melancholic lightness of dream and jangle pop and the unpretentious energy of power pop. Lyrically and musically, Secrecy can be perceived as an attempt to concretize some of the most cryptic and strange components of our common reality, or simply a brief revelry in the same.
