Richard Andersson & Rudi Mahall Quartet




The Danish-European jazz quartet Richard Andersson & Rudi Mahall Quartet is coming to Tårnby Main Library with music from their new album Monk & More – a meeting between American jazz history and modern European sensibility.

The album, released on Hobby Horse Records, brings together four strong voices from the European jazz scene for a repertoire of modern jazz classics: music by Thelonious Monk alongside compositions by Lennie Tristano, Ornette Coleman, Lee Konitz, and Jimmy Giuffre.

The Danish double bassist and bandleader Richard Andersson is a central figure in the Nordic jazz scene, known for his extensive artistic work and collaborations across borders and generations. He is here accompanied by Rudi Mahall, one of Europe’s most celebrated bass clarinetists, who has been living in Berlin since the 1990s and is world-renowned for his unique sound.
