Jeppe Zeeberg and The Absolute Pinnacle of Human Achievement feat. Ryoko Ono (JP)
Jeppe Zeeberg (DK) is a prize-winning composer and pianist. One of Denmark’s most original and headstrong musical figures, his music has been described as A beautiful, convincing proposal for how modern jazz or contemporary music may sound by All About Jazz.
The Absolute Pinnacle of Human Achievement is Zeeberg’s most personal band to date. The quartet which represents the best of Copenhagen’s improv and prog scenes, take on Zeeberg’s characteristically borderless mix of musical styles, grounded in an over-the-top energy and under-played humor. The band describes their music as an experimental, funky, post-postmodern punk-jazz hybrid with a rock’n’roll attitude and a bit of conceptual composition on top. The quartet has performed in a.o. Spain, Scandinavia, the UK, Germany and Japan.
In particular, this concert features a fifth element in the form of the phenomenal Japanese saxophonist Ryoko Ono (whom we know from Sax Ruins and Plastic Dogs).
