Vejslev/Brunbjerg/Elhøj
Vejslev/Brunbjerg/Elhøj have with years of intense collaboration managed to create their own sound within the standard jazz repertoire. Elhøj and Brunbjerg met at the conservatory in Odense, and found Vejslev when he came home to Copenhagen after four years at the conservatory in Amsterdam, where he had been taught by jazz guitar legends such as Jesse Van Ruller and Peter Bernstein.
The group started as a musical playground, where the three members explored jazz and improvisational music from all directions and angles. It has now become an extremely well-played trio, which both delivers a sharp interplay and at the same time retains imagination and the desire to always take the music to new places.
They have a particular fondness for curly composers such as Thelonious Monk, Lennie Tristano and Billy Strayhorn as well as jazz classics, which they put in their own distinctive light. They manage to intertwine fresh impulses from the other side of the Atlant...
