Mass is a band in close touch with its boundary-seeking nature. The band’s three young musicians, from Hylke and Lemvig respectively, purposefully strive to tread untouched terrain in music when performing their compositions. They experiment and place jazz in a modern context, through their distinctive sound and bubbling energy. Through the band’s modern sound, Mass wants to present the extremity and wildness of music, and its simultaneous fragility, to as broad an audience as possible. In 2022, the band was highly topical with the release of their debut EP “shitpigeon”. The release was nominated in 2023 for a DMA Jazz award in the category “New Name of the Year”. In 2027, the trio is once again in the spotlight with their debut album. Mass plays originally composed jazz music.
