Debut live performance of the world's first role-playing game for improvising musicians: Runic Soundscapes

After nearly two years in development, Tom Blancarte's musical role-playing game (MRPG) Runic Soundscapes will be performed live for the first time by the dedicated playtesting group who have generously contributed their time to shaping the game.
In Runic Soundscapes, players take on roles as sonic beings known as aural anima, who form a menagerie that embarks on adventures through graphic scores called stream-nets. These scores are scattered across the Sonic Sea, where the players encounter mysterious runes and strange entities known as spumekin.

Line up:
  • The playtesting group includes:
  • Francesco Bigoni – playing a hivekeeper on wind instruments and objets trouvés
  • Halym Kim – playing a new character (TBD) on percussion instruments generously loaned by percussionist Ying-Hsueh Chen
  • Henrik Olsson – playing a planesurfer on guitar
  • Tom Blancarte - as the rune sage, performing on as many instruments as he can manage to schlep to Copenhagen for the show
