Groovy sunshine beats and virtuoso, jazzy winds meet at Sunbörn in an innovative, global sound that bridges cultures. This evening we meet Sunbörn again at Brønshøj Sommerjazz (2020, formerly Kutimangoes). We expect a full blast reunion this evening, with Karen Mukuba as special guest.
Sunbörn has released 4 albums, won 4 DMAs – most recently as best live band – and their approachable music has been heard all over the world. The music moves elegantly through the boundaries of jazz, fusion and global music - and contains both acoustic, hand-played equilibrism, jazzy arrangements and modern electronic sounds.
The band's latest album, Sunbörn, was released in April '23 and represents the sextet's vision to unite and inspire: "We humans are all born under the same sun, and despite our different backgrounds and experiences, we have most things in common. The music speaks to our common humanity at a time when the world needs to come together.”

Mukuba grew up in Zambia and Tanzania until she moved to Denmark at the age of 15. She is primarily known as a hip hop/afro/reggae queen, and her latest album Bonobo has received high praise from the country's music critics. We are looking forward to a blast from a concert with this 6-person band with Mukuba's outgoing and impulsive joy of music at the forefront.
