Matheus Borges is a percussionist from Minas Gerais in Brazil. He loves to share his passion for Brazilian genres like Baião, Ijexá, Maxixe, Choro & Samba funk. He has visited Denmark twice to give pandeiro workshops. During these visits he met Danish musicians. At Copenhagen Jazz Festival he will meet his new musical friends again and they will perform together.
The concert is coordinated by the Copenhagen based pianist, Christian Kurdahl Larsen. He has devoted his musical life to Brazilian music and often travels to Rio de Janeiro to experience the culture and play the music. He is especially inspired by João Donato, and the name of the concert takes its name from one of Donato's tunes, Emoriô.
