AFT creates a musical landscape in perpetual transformation, where jazz merges with classical music, experimental rock and free music. The music balances between catchy melodies, playful rhythms and inexhaustible curiosity. The trio released their debut album, ‘Aldebar Nights of Mangos’, in March 2025 - a musical journey between the fragile and subtle to the explosive and unpredictable - and a sound that expresses both the introverted and the extroverted and energetic. This duality and unpredictability have also become Filipsen's signature and sound.

The trio constantly challenges the boundaries of the piano trio format in the year 2025 and explores how the sound, energy and interplay within the format can create new paths.
The music draws threads from jazz legends such as Duke Ellington and Thelonious Monk, avant- garde composers such as Morton Feldman and Conlon Nancarrow as well as serial music, Hermeto Pascoal and Talking Heads.
The album has garnered great acclaim and has been described as:

"The Filipsen Trio enjoys experimenting with Filipsen’s clever, genre-transcending, and uplifting sonic vision in perpetual transformation and organic, almost telepathic dynamics...In each of these short pieces, Filipsen’s Trio challenges the conventions of the classic jazz trio and searches for new sonic options, egalitarian interplay, and energetic drive." Salt Peanuts, No
“An irresistible earworm...With the Anders Filipsen Trio, everything revolves around tension in a film noir... Absolute recommendation. “ Jazzhalo, Be...
