At this concert, two of our own strong musical personalities—the pianist Henrik Gunde and the saxophonist Claus Waidtløw—pay tribute to two of jazz’s greatest masters: Oscar Peterson and Stan Getz.
These two giants have both left an enormous mark on jazz. They collaborated several times, including on the iconic album Stan Getz meets Oscar Peterson trio from 1958. Henrik Gunde is one of Denmark’s leading jazz stars and, with his playful and virtuosic style, has long established himself as a beloved pianist. Claus Waidtløw is one of the country’s most acclaimed saxophonists, with several releases to his name, including the Danish Music Award-winning album Playhouse.
The two bandleaders share a long-standing musical partnership—they know each other inside out, and when they come together, the music and creativity are given free rein.
