CORIOLIS & ILINX
The saxophone trio Coriolis and the vocal trio ilinx join forces in a unique double trio constellation. Coriolis's equilibrism from the contemporary improvisation scene is mixed with ilinx's virtuosity from experimental vocal music. Together they are a living, breathing organism whose shared open compositions unite absurd lyrics, sensitive melodies and wild outbursts.
Both groups work from an eternal curiosity about their instruments. With breathing as an anchor, they explore the potential and limitations of the voice and the saxophone, their similarities and differences. The line between voice and saxophone is blurred and no two concerts are the same.
They released the track “Pale Like My Sun” in spring 2023.

ILINX
ilinx was born out of a shared desire to explore the potential of the human voice, to create and nurture human connections. The group consists of the three singers and composers Anna Mæhl, Laura Marie Madsen and Amanda Appel. Their background ranges from classical music to folk and r&b. Since their debut Memory in 2020, ilinx has played concerts in Denmark and Europe, with a range that extends from avant-garde festivals to vocal rituals and warm-up for pop names - Bijloke, CHART ART fair, UNM, Alter festival, with FRAADS in Vega.
On stage, ilinx creates intimate spaces with an almost spiritual quality. Their concerts are an exploration of the voice as storyteller as well as primarily bodily material. Combining medieval choral music, daring improvisations and deconstructed R&B, with inspiration from contemporary composition and experimental electronics, ilinx creates music that is as futuristic as it is traditional.
"This is how ilinx swings in its own boldly understated way. Like lingering voice messages that have been raised from the Middle Ages and from the future. All at once... Someone wants us!” - Seismograph
CORIOLIS
From an airy whisper to a powerful storm, the room is filled with the energy and sound of 3 strong voices united. In Coriolis, the three saxophonists Nana Pi, Carolyn Goodwin and Maria Dybbroe investigate the saxophone's infinite tonal possibilities and how they can be united as one strong voice; one body - one ultra instrument. A rolling rush of polyphony, dissonances, abstract textures and poetic epic themes. The air pressure both knocks you over and caresses you softly with air currents as fine and fragile as marshmallow brew.
All three of Coriolis' members are part of Barefoot Records and are known from bands such as Thou Sonic Friend, Copenhagen Clarinet Choir, Nezelhorns, Caktus, Køs and Extemporize Orchestra. In addition, they are all part of the vibrant improv scene in Copenhagen....
