The trio Strid/Ingves/Berg is formed for the Winter Jazz Festival 2024, as the drummer Johannes Berg has invited one of his greatest idols and former drum teacher Raymond Strid, as well as one of his best musical playmates Karin Ingves on the piano, to play a concert with him. Johannes has studied Nordic Master of Jazz, which brought him to study for one semester in Stockholm, where he studied together with Karin and had Raymond as his drum teacher. Since then, Johannes has had a desire to put together a group in which he and Raymond could play together. The three musicians form the framework for an intense, attentive and responsive improvisational constellation, where the love of experimentation and play is key.

Raymond Strid is a Swedish improv and freejazz drummer and percussionist born in Stockholm in 1956. Raymond is inspired by some of Europe's most legendary improv drummers including: Han Bennink, Paul Lytton and Tony Oxley. Raymond played his first concert on September 30 1977, and 11 years later in 1988 he formed the trio GUSH together with Mats Gustafsson and Sten Sandell. Today, Raymond is a recognized musician on the international improv-scene and has worked with countless prominent names throughout his many years of work. Including: Frederik Ljungkvist, The

Karin Ingves is a Copenhagen based pianist with former education in classical music in addition to jazz and improvisation. She works regularly with the saxophone player Marcus Wärnheim and plays in Alex Zethson Ensemble. Previously she has played concerts at for instance Moers Festival in Germany as well as Kulturhuset and Fylkingen in Stockholm.

Johannes Berg (b. 1991 in Aarhus) is a versatile and wide-ranging drummer who is
an active player on the nordic jazz and improv scene. Johannes is active in a number of bands, including Klokke who in 2020 released their debut album and recently in October 2023 released their second studio album "Antologi". In addition to this, Johannes is an active composer, inspired by nature and under strong influence of the Northern minimalistic folk tradition. His playing is deeply grounded in his focus on sound. To him the art of playing music that is relevant and important is at the core of his playing....
