23 influential female musicians from the European experimental music scene have created music in 9 different new constellations that together form the album MEUF Volume 1. Join the celebration of the CD release with 3 concerts featuring musicians from the record: Qarin Wikström & Nina De Heney, Anne Efternøler / Carolyn Goodwin / Maria Dybbroe, and Hilde Marie Holsen & Andrea S. Giordano. The album is the first collaborative work in a new annual tradition released on Barefoot Records, offering a vibrant and diverse journey into the infinite possibilities of music, inviting you to experience the new and be amazed. The music ranges from vocals in dialogue with electronic sci-fi beings to brass instruments screaming in discussion, synthesizers gently embracing your body, electronics ominously enveloping you in a storm, and vocals softly massaging your ears.
Nina de Heney and Qarin Wikström
Nina de Heney and Qarin Wikström are both prominent figures in the Scandinavian improvisational music scenes. Known for their uncompromising musicality, deeply personal expression, and sensitive communication, De Heney and Wikström began their collaboration in 2019, immediately struck by direct and curiously strong communication between them. Since then, they have performed as a duo, and in the spring of 2023, they released their debut album QOMOLANGMA on the Swedish label Outerdisk.
Dybbroe/Efternøler/Goodwin

The result was, unsurprisingly, a very cohesive trio! The constellation of two woodwinds and a trumpet holds endless potential for sonic collisions. In vast worlds of harmonies and sounds, the quarantine trio explores chamber music aesthetics in a dense and naked expression, where everything is negotiable.
Hilde Marie Holsen & Andrea S. Giordano
Norwegian trumpeter Hilde Marie Holsen has created a unique sound and style. Through computer and pedals, she processes her trumpet, blending the mournful tone of the brass instrument with the exploratory potential of electronic music. She creates music that sits between jazz, contemporary classical music, and drone music. Holsen has performed solo and with bands such as Silent Fres, Bilayer, and Holsen&Cassiers at numerous festivals across Europe. For this concert, she forms a duo with Andrea S. Giordano – an Italian singer, composer, and electronic musician based in Oslo, working with both composition and improvisation. Her musical language spans from extended techniques inspired by free jazz and traditional Piedmontese dialect and intonation. She graduated from the Siena Jazz Institute and the Norwegian Academy of Music and has toured across Europe as a solo artist and with the duo OTONN....
