Svømme Redux - Sound Installation
Svømme was a trans-disciplinary project focussed on community in the context of group swimming and improvisation. For five months, 9 swimmers/musicians met every week to face adverse cold waters through winter all the way into the soothing waters of summer. With the group’s collective aquatic experiences as inspiration, they improvised music that was as immersive as the frigid waters of the Baltic sea, relying on their interconnectivity and network of experience to hold each other in a musical space.

Svømme Redux is an audio installation and performance that reflects on the process and research for Svømme. With handmade resonator-speakers spread throughout Brønshøj Vandtårn, it is an immersion into our relationship with water and each other through the aquatic. Through field recordings of performance, rehearsal, swimming sessions and underwater recordings the installation takes the audience on a journey through time and reverberation using the sonic and social properties of water.

Abstract Trumpet Ensemble - Trumpet Quartet
"Abstract Trumpet Ensemble" is a quartet of four trumpet players from Copenhagen’s rich avant-garde scene who radically challenge the perception of the instrument and what is possible to play using only the body, air and the trumpet.

The band is based on one idea: How far can the trumpet be sonically stretched and what’s possible with only the human body and the trumpet as an instrument. Through an innovative approach of how to make sound with the trumpet, the band has forgotten everything they have learned on the instrument and started again from the beginning using extreme bodily techniques to produce other worldly sounds and compositions.

The group focuses on taking the concept of extended instrumental techniques to a new extreme through non-hierarchical and improvisation-based formats, utilising the uniformity of an all-trumpet ensemble to its fullest extent.
