This year Drop Inn has assigned themes to the days that represent the best in Jazz.
A superselection that celebrates and highlights instruments, sub-genres & trends in Jazz-Denmark. The first Saturday in our festival program is under the theme: Urban Soul in Jazz.
The 5to8s is a groove collective consisting of some of the baddest musicians, singers and rappers in the Copenhagen and Malmø area. The band has been going strong in Copenhagen for the last 10+ years with residencies at Ideal bar (Vega), Barbarella Cocktail bar, and Café Mandela in the heart of Copenhagen.
The sound is Urban (Hiphop, Soul/Neo-soul Reggae, G-funk/Funk and Pop) playing a mix of original material, covers or just creating on the spot. The 5to8s are always in funk mode adding a unique flavour to whatever they touch.
