Doors open @ 19.00. Concert is sold out.
With the unique live recording "Strands", Jakob Bro, Palle Mikkelborg and Marilyn Mazur have released the first fully Danish jazz record in the world on the historic ECM Records. Experience them present the album at the Vinterjazz opening night in Brorsons Kirke.
In a spontaneous and exploratory territory, three of Danish jazz's greatest capacities from each generation meet and paint a spherical and deeply felt melodic snapshot. There is air in the music, great freedom and a common desire to create something that cannot necessarily be explained, but felt.
“It is a search for meaning. If I may become so high-flying. Is there a meaning, and if there is, can I understand it and join in?” This is how Palle Mikkelborg explains his musical life journey in Jørgen Leth and Andreas Koefoed's film Music For Black Pigeons, which has been shown at film festivals all over the world.
