Sono Figures Society - small works
Sono Figures Society is a Copenhagen based group out of the Norwegian composer, musician and puppeteer Marte Røyeng, German vocalist, puppeteer and puppet maker Sarah Buchner (based in Denmark) and Danish-American Textile and Costume Designer Nat Johns.
They met over their shared fascination for contemporary puppet theater and experimental sound, aiming to contribute through cross-disciplinary artistic innovation within the Nordic scene for experimental music and theater.
Aesthetically dedicated towards punk surrealism their work explores different methods to connect sound and puppet – from improvisation, to composed theater, and extended musical composition. The group is on a long term journey to research what different meanings the term sound-puppetry can hold engaging in a from-scratch practice that includes building their own puppets and stage designs. Fossum/Ólafsdóttir/Huarachi/Gouffault/Różalski - SOLOS
Five improvisers will use the space of KoncertKirken to present five solo sets, finishing with a collective ensemble set. The audience is invited to follow their ears and move throughout the space from solo-site to solo-site.
Each improviser has prepared a specific intention that guides their improvisation. Distilled in a solo set, their intention will be made clear, and blended in an ensemble constellation it will coalesce to the group sound.
Sunday Sessions is a new initiative presented at Koncertkirken for creative and improvised music, aimed at inter-generational and cross-collaborative artistic exchange among various artistic circles. Its working group has come together to facilitate concerts and workshops primarily targeting the youth, focusing on creative and improvised music with the aim of strengthening the creative process in music.
Sunday Sessions is preparing a diverse programme of collaborative workshops and engaging music every Sunday during Vinterjazz 2024, with different content, facilitators and concert lineup for each occasion....
