Horse Orchestra: A True Melting Pot
Horse Orchestra is a genuine fusion of cultures, comprising musicians from Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and Iceland. Their music blends traditional jazz, hip-hop, noise, baroque, and free improvisation – all delivered with a fiery rock 'n' roll attitude. The band stands as a testament to a new generation in Nordic jazz: well-versed in music history yet capable of opening the genre to a much broader audience.
The roaring 1920s of New Orleans meet the free jazz of the 1960s, with dashes of hip-hop, rock, and Renaissance music, creating an original, humorous, and postmodern expression that transcends the jazz genre.
For Horse Orchestra, humor is just as essential as instrumental virtuosity and compelling compositions. The audience becomes part of a jubilant, infectious musical celebration that invites them to embrace the band’s bold and often extreme sonic experiments.

The band’s debut album, Living the Dream (2014), won two Danish Music Awards with the jury stating:
"The band consists of young musicians who have no regard for conventions. They do exactly what they want, ignoring what others might do. They can dive into a 1920s New Orleans composition one moment and shift to 1960s Chicago jazz the next – and play both styles with equal conviction, all while adding a personal and original touch to the music."
In 2016, Horse Orchestra released their second album, Four Letter Word, to enthusiastic reviews, and they are currently working on a video EP. The band has performed across Denmark, Norway, Iceland, Germany, England, Serbia, Hong Kong, and China.
Children of Fish
Children of Fish is an international trio consisting of three friendly creatures – Malina Midera, Petter Asbjørnsen, and Jēkabs Rēders. They are united by a shared desire for mutual understanding and freedom of expression, both in music and in life. Their shared roots in jazz, combined with each member’s individual exploration of contemporary possibilities, result in a genre-defying sound. This is reflected in their use of acoustic and electronic instruments and their approach to life and each other.
Children of Fish create music that dares to be joyful, creative, and experimental all at once. This philosophy gives their music a distinctive edge and creates a space where each member can honestly express their tastes.
