Rasmus Meisler is the artist behind this year’s art poster

Earlier this year we had to say goodbye to one of Denmark’s greatest legends of jazz, violinist Svend Asmussen. His legacy was celebrated across the country during Vinterjazz 2017, and the celebration of this bygone presence continues on Rasmus Meisler’s art poster alongside one of the many strong women in jazz, Ella Fitzgerald, who would have turned 100 in 2017. Ella Fitzgerald’s own musical legacy is also the basis for a line of celebratory concerts at Copenhagen Jazz Festival 2017.

Rasmus Meisler is an award-winning Copenhagen-based illustrator and animator specializing in magazine and newspaper illustrations, book and album covers, animated TV titles and animated apps. Meisler is a member of the “Spild af Tid Collective” which dates back to the year 2000, where Spild af Tid ApS was founded with fellow designers Jenz Koudahl and Jakob Thorbek.
