Kimbra Koil is a Copenhagen-based quintet that blends rhythmic figurations with daring
melodies and fluid, open structures. With its unique instrumentation, the group explores
new sonic possibilities and interactions in an adventurous hybrid between avant-garde jazz
and chamber music, where contrast is the key word.
The band was assembled by Thomsen in 2025 in order to actualize his musical vision and
unite some of the most interesting musicians on the contemporary scene.
