The new album from Astrid Engberg is gentle Nordic soul/noir with vocal harmonies, horn phrasings, string arrangements, dynamic shifts, long sonic surfaces, playful percussion and much more. The album is the sequel to her debut album Tulpa, a heartfelt insight to a severe concussion and the story of working your way up to a well mental and physical health through the music.

Trust is a declaration of love for intuition. An album created with a playful joy and out of gratitude and trust to all that is right now. Astrid has earlier been forced to give herself peace, time and space to opt out in life – and that has been an epiphany for her, because it has provided room for other things to be chosen or appear by itself. She creates her music intuitively; by creating mental freedom to slow down and focus on her presence in the present, she can listen to her inner and let compositions emerge.

The value of finding peace and making room can’t be measured, but it is equally as important. And even though music is often created from structure, art can also show itself through different ways. Astrid has created Trust as a new mom, where all structures and tasks are turned upside down, and it can be really emotional. The key for her has been to stay open towards the present and trusting her intuition. Through this, the album has been created freely as a continuing process....
