The album was made through a span of five years from 2017-2022 by renowned Danish artist Anders Bach, known for his work as a producer, composer and writer, and as a drummer in bands like H E X, Sleep Party People and Luster.

GNOM:
Danish emo-trance artist GNOM release the debut album “Bitumenic” through Copenhagen label Don’t Look Back Records June 9th on streaming and cassette.
The album was made through a span of five years from 2017-2022 by renowned Danish artist Anders Bach, known for his work as a producer, composer and writer, and as a drummer in bands like H E X, Sleep Party People and Luster.
GNOM resides in a frenetic intersection between trance-techno, new age melodism and progressive rock: it’s about emotional overload in an esoteric ebb of sawtooth synthesizers, velvet textures and harsh riffs. It’s instrumental music loaded with screamo-vocals, crystal clear melodies and the speedy hits of the drum. GNOM is a solemn parasite that simply grows: a brutal grief and a somber repose where light and dark are parallel, not disparate states.
“Bitumenic” is an attempt to express loss. It is about being a spectator to death, the memoric comfort and future pain, solitude and synergy, timeless reconciliation and effortless confusion. The album-title is a made-up adjectivization of bitumen (asphalt). It’s a tar-like sticky substance is a biproduct, thermoplastic but natural, absorbed by fumes or through the skin. A hot and vicious liquid, like the music.
This album was made with many important people. Brian Batz of Sleep Party People co-produced and co-mixed the album; Angel Marcloid of Fire-Toolz features on vocals and guitar, and mastered the album; Danish black metal artist Seiðr and free-jazz extravanganzo Anders Lauge Meldgaard feature on two songs. Prophetic visual artist Sam Balfus made both album-cover and two accompanying music videos that beautifully encapsulate the messy universe of GNOM.
Ingri Høyland
Ingri Høyland has created the album Ode To Stone in collaboration with the artists Ida Urd, Sofie Birch and Lea Gulditte Hestelund. The 7 compositions explore the small and large movements and synergies between the stone, the wind, the dunes and the light by the North Sea. The album seeks both physically and abstractly to expand our sense of time and thus take care of the slow, the extended and the fluid. A dragon against earth and stone.
The album was created from a stay at Husby Klitplantage and approaches deep listening and sensuality, science fiction and alternatives to capitalist structures. Inspired by author Ursula K. Le Guin, Ingri, in collaboration with the three other artists, has zoomed in on the care of our everyday life and the album functions as a rest room and stretch of time.
Ingri about the album "I had long wanted to make a work that tried to stretch a state of mind and so I invited the others to join in in different ways. At the North Sea there are forces that surprise and overwhelm your body, and physically and during the stay I slowly felt a surrender to something bigger. A special humility and connection to a deeper time. I always longed for the untouched nature in Norway, and it is found by the North Sea!”
The album has become a sensuous container for industrial and ambient soundscapes, small and intimate melodies with stringless bass and gentle voices, which move the listener into himself and out into nature. Ode To Stone provides space and time for reflection on a different view of people, society and nature, a view that includes the slow and caring:
"The compositions were made in the order they appear on the record, and you can almost hear the different stages we have gone through - to start with an almost physical and almost painful slowness, discovery of new physical patterns and counter-movements, an enormous darkness, longing and a gentle surrender”.
Ingri Høyland is a composer and sound artist who works to translate fluid states of mind and bodies into sound, in everything from installations, collaborations, film music or pop releases. Ingri also makes music under the name Hôy la, where in 2021 she released the debut album There's a Girl through the record company NESM. She has performed her music at Roskilde Festival, Øyafestivalen, Kantine Am Berghain and two tours in Japan. Ingri's work is present and alluring and contains darkness and a search for light....
