Where does Copenhagen Jazz Festival take place?
The short answer: Everywhere! Well, almost everywhere in Copenhagen at least. Copenhagen Jazz Festival is a massive happening, lasting 10 days with (usually) more than 1200 concerts at a wide variety of venues. You can listen to top international jazz names at the stunning Royal Theatre, in Brorson’s Church and in Jean Nouvel’s architectural world-class concert hall, DR Koncerthuset – as well as along the harbour front, where you can enjoy a refreshing dip in the clear waters to the sound of Danish and international jazz – and so much more. During Copenhagen Jazz Festival, jazz is everywhere, at the venues and outside in the city’s many parks and town squares, and with its mix of concerts with free or paid admittance you’ll find plenty of great musical experiences suitable for all budgets.
How do I get around town during Copenhagen Jazz Festival?
In spite of the festival’s size, Copenhagen is a relatively small big city. You can get around midtown on foot with ease, which will allow you to visit a large portion of the festival’s venues and outdoor spaces. Renting a bike is highly recommended and is the preferred method of transportion for a large part of the city’s 1.3 million citizens, especially during summertime. Copenhagen is a very bike-friendly city, but public transportation is also a perfectly viable way of getting around by bus, subway, train or even boat! Copenhagen Jazz Festival will once again team up with the public transportation company DOT to offer a sizable discount on daily passes – stay tuned at Jazz.dk for more info!
How do I buy tickets for concerts at Copenhagen Jazz Festival?
Copenhagen Jazz Festival is a melting pot of venues, organizers and artists. All concerts with paid admittance directly organized and produced by the festival office have tickets in pre-sale via ticket vendor Billetlugen.
