Beyond being an extremely captivating and high-energy live band, Kalaha is known for constantly exploring new musical borderlands and geographic soundscapes.
Consisting of drum powerhouse Emil de Waal, guitarist Niclas Knudsen (Ibrahim Electric), and bassist/computer wizard Anders Stig Møller (including Tim Christensen & Dizzy Mizz Lizzy), Kalaha has created a truly unique universe somewhere between roots, jazz, and electronic music.
As a listener, one moment you’re in a high-speed, jazz-infused chase through a bazaar in Istanbul; the next, you’re floating in the cosmic vastness of space—only to land in a dusty village in Mali.
