Katari is a folk-pop duo consisting of Ari Johannesen and Katrina Olsen. They have been playing
and writing music together for several years and will release their third single, “terrastund,” in
the summer of 2026.
With their music, Katari aims to create a universe where opposites meet. Floating vocal melodies
are set against offbeat rhythms and heavy themes, and the music is colored by a light and
peaceful atmosphere that hides something simmering just beneath the surface. The songs revolve
around the feeling of being in another world in both the best and worst ways, addressing themes
such as anxiety, heartbreak, and figuring out what you want to do with your life. The soundscape
is acoustic, in a bossa nova style with jazz-inspired riffs on guitar and saxophone.
