SWAY is a jazz trio consisting of Marionnu Winther Nagata, Katrinu Olsen and Daniu O.
Tausen. The three perform lively and highly entertaining songs a cappella. The trio draws
particular inspiration from the jazz group The Andrews Sisters, who rose to fame in the 1930s. SWAY’s performances combine traditional barbershop material, including songs by The Andrews Sisters, with original compositions written by the trio in the same style.

Since their formation, they have established themselves as a strong presence on various Faroese stages. They have arranged for—and performed with—the Faroese Symphony Orchestra and Thorshavn Big Band, and have rearranged and performed a song by Eivør together with her.
They have performed at schools across the country and have sung for Queen Margrethe. In 2021, they won the music competition Stella Polaris, and in addition, they have played countless concerts across the country at both private and public events.

Now the trio is taking the next step, performing in Denmark for the first time in connection with Copenhagen Jazz Festival. This marks a significant milestone for SWAY, who are very much looking forward to meeting a new audience and bringing their music beyond the Faroe Islands.

They are described as a refreshing addition to Faroese musical culture, surprising audiences with their charisma and humorous performances. Their music is entertaining and their energy infectious, making it easy to understand why they have won the hearts of audiences across the Faroe Islands....
